Marta Poliszot

Born in Kraków, Poland, Marta Poliszot was a student of Kraków Opera ballet studio as well as the city’s Fryderyk Chopin Academy, where she studied piano. After graduating from secondary school, and while still studying at the Vocal Actor Studio, she was invited to audition at the Kraków Opera and cast as Pepi in Johann Strauss’ operetta Wiener Blut. Following this extremely successful debut, Poliszot was offered a contract as a soloist and performed as a member of the opera company for many years. She continued her singing education under teachers including Krystyna Tyburowska.

Marta Poliszot has a beautiful, sonorous lyrical coloratura soprano voice and wonderful physical abilities. Jowita Dziedzic, theatre critic for Gazeta Wyborcza wrote: “On the stage she is like a fish in water; her movements are full of grace, and her voice flawless.”

She has performed as a guest artist in operas like the Opera in Lublin. Her repertoire comprises all the major soprano roles, including Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro, Norina in Don Pasquale and Adele in Die Fledermaus. Her professional travels have taken her to Norway, Hungary, Turkey, Brazil (Rio de Janeiro), Kuwait, China and Central America, as well as many other destinations.

Marta Poliszot has worked alongside a host of prestigious musicians from leading orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic and the Wiener Symphoniker – singing Villa-Lobos’ Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 accompanied by eight cellists from the Wiener Symphoniker, for instance.

Poliszot was one of the stars of a sell-out concert at the Palace of the Republic in Minsk, when she performed in front of 3,000 classical music fans together with Rainer Honeck, the Concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic. Honeck topped the bill, appearing as both soloist and conductor at the Viennese gala concert.

In Austria, Marta Poliszot has sung at the Brucknerhaus in Linz and the main hall of the Musikverein in Vienna, the Grosse Musikvereinssaal.
